The Platinum series is the flagship of TAGA Harmony speakers. The eye catching, stylish curved cabinets made of strong and thick MDF boards equipped with advanced drivers and high quality crossovers give crisp, clear, natural and dynamic sound performance.

CABINETS

TLIE – Taga Low Interference Enclosures are made of high-quality 15mm thick MDF boards (12mm for Center and Surrounds speakers) with inside braces (floorstanding models) to increase stiffness and limit any unwanted resonances.

The shapes are perfectly crafted not only to look wonderful and modern but mainly to lower any unwanted vibrations, diffractions or turbulences, which can affect the sound performance.

Acoustical damping material used inside cabinets eliminates problem of internal standing waves and bass-reflex ports are uniquely designed to reduce distortions to minimum.

1” (25mm) TPTTD Taga Pure Titanium Tweeter Dome with oversized Φ70 magnet, ferrofluid cooling and heavy duty CCAW and silver wiring voice coil, the tweeter can bear high power and its performance is very accurate, clear, smooth and detailed. 

Specialized horn-like, TWG TAGA Waveguide design of tweeter's faceplate utilizing concave diffusers as well as dome metal grill assists with equal and flat dispersion of sound in and off the axis of the driver. CCAW voice coil ensures crisp, clean and distortion free communication and high power sound. Platinum tweeter can perform up to 40KHz!

TTP Taga Top Plate (selected models only) reduces standing waves effect and creates three-dimensional performance.

Rigid and ultra-light TPACD Taga Pure Aluminum cone Driver (with aluminum bullet shaped phase plug and chassis, oversized Φ80 magnet and Φ90 in F-120 model and the models with the 2013 Upgrade Package) with the butyl suspension can move very fast and frequently allowing mid-range frequencies to be very rich, spacious and sweet. Heavy duty combo T-yoke, pure copper voice coil can stand high temperatures and power inputs. The still, bullet shaped phase plug is to align the phase of the audio signal and to smooth the midrange frequency response.

BASSREFLEX PORTS

BOM Bassreflex Omnidirectional Module -low-turbulence and high-velocity ports utilizing concave diffusers for increased dispersion of low frequencies.

CROSSOVERS

High quality, close-tolerance and precisely selected crossovers’ components and internal wires for absolute sound neutrality, high long-term power and reliability.

INTERNAL WIRING

TAGA Harmony utilizes high purity oxygen free copper OFC for internal wiring connecting crossovers with drivers assuring that incoming audio signals from receiver or amplifier will not lose any important details on the paths to drivers.

SPEAKER'S BINDING POSTS

All speakers (including center and surround speakers) use high quality, gold-platted banana binding posts accepting raw speaker cables up to 10AWG and most popular types of connectors. Front speakers use upgraded, high-end banana binding posts allowing bi-wiring for wider dispersions and spaciousness, higher sonic accuracy and more precise location.

Realistic sound effects, fast reaction

When playing the Captain America 2 BD, I was surprised how the Platinum v.2 series was performing the subtle changes during shooting scenes… the sound can also change quickly. Especially, the scene when the American captain was fighting with the Cold War was wonderful. The sound is full of vigor and realism… The loudspeakers reaction is so instinctively fast that it is so difficult to keep up with these rapidly changing sound effects. Finally, the Cold War hits the shield. The sound is spreading out as rapidly as mercury, and the audience can't help but only highly praise the speakers.

The range of kinetic energy is better than before

The center speaker used its five drivers at their full potential. When it played My Heart Will Go On, the sound of the bagpipes in the prelude was very resonant, twisty and melodic but clear at the same time and it was hard to ignore. After that, the splendid voice made the listeners immerse in moving atmosphere and recall the movie plot. It could be heard that the Platinum v.2 series is very musical.

When the soldiers raised an artillery cannon, the movie showed every close-up detail. The Platinum v.2 series presented the true sound of all actions in this movie. And the sound effect has been changing depending on different instruments’ configuration. Thanks to the metal vibrating diaphragm. The sound is very realistic and every aspect such as the height and position of the cannon were shown."
